I completely agree with you the Paradox is solved via this fuzzy logic.
If suffering is caused by desire and then end of desire is the end of suffering then can we not cease suffering not by, "squashing or eliminating", as is generally taught but by accepting the desire and if required Fulfilling it.
This way the desire is ceased and the suffering ended. Of course this only would apply under, "if it harms none do as thou wilt"!

I still have a few problems with 'if it harms none, do as thou wilt' - it may be a wiccan ideal, but it certainly doesn't apply to all pagans, nor do I believe it's anything like as old as some would have us believe.
I'm not even sure that all suffering is caused by desire, though obviously some may be. But it's an interesting concept!

HI, Yes I always imagined that term orginated from the Golden Dawn was used and edited by both Crowley and Fortune before being propigated by Gardener and Alexander.
This Blog was purely in relationship to the concept of Dhukka within Buddism.-

I have to say that the quote 'Do what thou will and it harm none' is Actually a Universal Truth...a truth that is within all spiritual paths...even Satanism.
If you look at all paths there is in one way or another...do what you will and it harm none...motto...as for desire...Everything is done in desire...verything is done because You WANT to...The reason why some do not believe that it is Desire that drives this is because it is an Underlying Desire that is hidden deeply within the subconscious and I will say...that anyone who sits and says...I Do Not Desire for this or that is well...telling pokey pies....Yep thats right I did just call you that...lol...this is just my view point.

I am going to take you to task - I do not deny desire, although I have spent time in an ego free environment and space where desire was reduced to a minimal level. The concept above is where one no longer desires as they see the desire analise whether under the rede it is an acceptable act to remove the desire by allowing the prior to become an action. A Posteriori Reasoning from effects to causes A Priori Reasoning from causes to effects

I do not deny desire either...In fact I quench it daily to things that create ego.

I would not like to meet my self if Ego had a hold of me...Not a pretty sight I'm sure...Thank the Goddess for Unconditional Love and Understanding as an Unlimited gift to human kind.

No argument against that belief.
