There is surely nothing other than the single purpose of the present moment. A man's whole life is a succession of moment after moment. If one fully understands the present moment, there will be nothing else to do, and nothing to pursue. Live being true to the single purpose of the moment.
Everyone lets the present moment slip by, then looks for it as though it were somewhere else. No one seems to of noticed this fact. Grasping this firmly, one must pile experience upon experience. Once one has come to this understanding he will be a different person from that point on, though we may not always bear it in mind.
When one understands this settling into single-mindedness, affairs will thin out. Loyalty to purpose is also within this single-mindedness.

"The Spirit of The Age", is something to which we cannot return once past. The Spirit dissapates as if a world coming to an end. Similary a year does not just contain spring and summer. Each day has its hours.
We may wish to change today to yesteryears world. It cannot be done. Make the best of every generation. So many make the mistake of being attached to past generations.
People who only have an understanding of this day and dislike the ways of the past are lax.

Be true to the thought of the moment, avoid distraction. Continue to exert and enter into nothing else, go to the extent of living single thought by single thought.
